Liberty Traditional School second-graders Mason Robison, left, and David Leithead, relish the chance to draw, paint with glue, and use colored sand during an after-school art program April 3 supported by the school’s PTO and the Prescott Art Docents.
Cindy Welch, Prescott Art Docent, explains to about 35 second-graders in Liberty Traditional School's after-school art program on April 3 how this piece of artwork by Frederic Remington has a skyline with a background, midground and foreground.
Every grade level at Liberty has three art classes, sponsored by the Prescott Art Docents and the school's PTO, during the year on early-release Wednesdays.
Students learn about the elements of art and get to put that knowledge into practice with a specific art activity.
