Special to the Tribune

Every year Kiwanis Club of Bradshaw Mountain donate new dictionaries to each third-grade student in the Humboldt Unified School District. So when Lake Valley Elementary School's fifth- and sixth-graders needed dictionaries, Darelyn Rock knew who to ask for help.

On Feb. 25, the members of the Kiwanis delivered dictionaries to each of the students in one of several children's programs supported by Kiwanis. The organization raises thousands of dollars for scholarships to graduating seniors, and sports and art programs. An annual Dress-A-Teen program brings teens and new clothes together during the holiday season, and they recognize middle school Students of the Month for their achievement during the school year.

Kiwanis members are now seeking donations for the 65th Annual Kiwanis Auction that will run every weeknight from 7-10 p.m. on cable Channel 13, March 25-April 5.

The Kiwanis Club of Bradshaw Mountain is a service organization dedicated to making the world a better place for the children of Prescott Valley, Dewey-Humboldt, Mayer and Cordes. For more information on membership, call Kathy at 928-713-9248.
