9/4/2013 10:59:00 AM Letter: Former Tribune columnist thanks community for support in loss of husband
It has been several years since I have written to (and for) the Prescott Valley Tribune with my Coffee Cup Counsel articles a few years ago.
I stopped writing those columns when my husband Bill had a major stroke in 2007. The kind wishes of our friends here in Prescott Valley have been a constant encouragement to me.
On Aug. 14, my darling "moved to heaven." His passing was so precious. I was alone with him, talking to him and singing softly, songs about heaven.
We had 56 wonderful years together. I have such precious memories, I could (and probably will) write a book.
I am writing today to let you, our friends here in Prescott Valley, know how very much I have appreciated your support. Meeting you in public places has been a joy. Many tell me you still remember the articles I wrote, and that you miss them. I thank you for that.
Bill had a favorite saying that I will pass along to each of you. He often said, "I believe we're gonna make it." And we are. I will and you will, whatever you are facing today. You will get through it if you don't cave in to despair. Life can be good again. God bless you.
