5/1/2013 9:45:00 AM Letter: Students enjoyed time with Phippen volunteers
The fifth-grade students at Granville Elementary School would like to thank Mr. James Ward and Mr. Tony, volunteers from the Phippen Art Museum in Prescott, for the "treasured time" they spent with us enhancing our reading and social studies curriculum.
We enjoyed making Native American corn husk dolls to replicate those toys made by children in America when the first European settlers arrived.
We also created watercolor treasure maps. This put the finishing touch on our study of the classic novel, "Robinson Crusoe." We learned planning, sketching and basic watercolor techniques. What fun!
Thank you again for supplying all of the necessary materials and instruction, Mr. Ward and Mr. Tony. We hope to see you next year!
