Letter: No Federal employee pays REAL taxes

Editor:

The politicians are asking us to "Pay Your Fair Share." Let's figure out who is and is not paying their fair share.

No Federal government employee pays REAL Federal taxes. What are real Federal taxes? Those taxes that pay for bullets and armor for our troops fighting to protect us or those taxes going to pay the interest on our debt are REAL taxes.

Let's just focus on the tax money. When the government pays an employee, it takes money out of the Treasury and moves it to the pay check. It then takes that tax money out of the check and sends it to the IRS as Tax Revenue. The IRS then sends the money back to the Treasury which just replaces the money that was taken from the Treasury.

At this point there is no more tax money in the Treasury than there was before the check was written. The problem is that the IRS says that they collected that amount of money and the politicians think that they have that money to spend. But, they do not even have any more money to pay for bullets for our troops.

This is like you getting paid $100 and writing it down as income as you put it in your right pocket. You then take it out of your right pocket and put it in your left pocket.

At this point you take it out of your left pocket, write it down as income and put it in your right pocket where you put all your income. If you do this every minute for an hour you can say that you earned $6,000 for that hour, but if you check your pockets you will see you only have the original $100. You do not have the $6,000 to spend.

It is the same with the Government.they take taxes from you, move it to a check, take it back and count it as income again.

No Government spending produces new REAL taxes. It is money they already had and just moving it out and back in does not create new money! The only people that pay REAL taxes are those in the private sector that do not get any government funds.

As my dad told me some 50-plus years ago "You Cannot Tax - Tax."

I have tried to point this out to several of our politicians from local to national and they all say I am wrong. They say they do pay REAL taxes.

Maybe if more people challenged them they would understand that a lot of money they think the Government has is not REAL!

When they ask us to pay our fair share, ask them when they are going to pay their fair share.

For those who think this is wrong, I can show you how to generate $17 trillion in revenue, to pay off our debt, but don't spend that money because it does not exist!

Article comment by: I read an economics chapter once

This guy is a hoot - same misinformed message lost in the lack of cohesiveness one would expect from a letter to an editor.

It's been fun reading his attempt at intellectualism, but that's about all these letters have been good for.

The reasons this letter doesn't succeed are polynomial! (can't believe he left that out)
