Buckeye Youngker 44

The Bears got off the schneid Wednesday night, snapping a three-game losing streak in power-point games thanks to this five-point victory over Buckeye Youngker at home.

Bradshaw Mountain led just 23-22 at halftime but began to pull away late, snagging a 37-28 lead by the end of the third quarter.

"In the first half, it was the same old, same old - we played OK, but we had too many turnovers," BMHS coach Doug Beilfuss said. "In the third quarter, we put things together."

Later, up by nine points with 50 seconds left in regulation, the Bears survived a late push from the Roughriders.

Gilbert Ibarra guided Bradshaw offensively with 16 points, while DJ Gonzales and Jacob Lord added nine points each.

The Bears open the all-important Division 2, Section 1 portion of their schedule at 7 p.m. Friday when they visit Kingman.
