The Bradshaw Mountain softball Lady Bears took their home opener 15-5 over Chino Valley's Lady Cougars Monday afternoon in a run-rule shortened five innings.

Bradshaw senior Terra Stults went the distance on the mound, giving up 5 runs and 8 hits while striking out 4. She helped her cause at the plate by going 2-for-3 with 3 runs batted in.

The other half of the Bradshaw battery, Terra's twin sister, Karrah, batted 2-for-4 and also had 3 RBIs and a run scored.

Fellow senior Kristen Jensen went 2-for-4 and scored twice.

Sophomore Madison Rubio hit a 2-run homerun and scored twice, while classmate Tia Randa batted 1-for-4 with 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored.

The Lady Bears next head for the Apollo Cool Nights Softball Tournament on Thursday, for a 12:30 p.m. game versus Thunderbird and a 2 p.m. game with Wickenburg. Friday, they take on Tuba City at 12:30 p.m. in pool play, and the single elimination tournament starts Friday night and ends Saturday. They have no games next week during Spring Break.
